  • We believe that men desire to be loving, caring, and accountable in their relationships with partners, children and friends.

  • We believe that the training that men receive in society about what it means to be a man diminishes and limits men's opportunities for real and meaningful intimacy in their lives and relationships.

  • We believe that this training in men's culture gets men to act in ways that go against their own better judgment and their personal and relational interests.

  • We believe that an important part of work with men involves a careful consideration of the effects of going along with men's training in the lives of their partners, children, and friendships.

  • We believe that therapy with men needs to take place in the ethical and moral realm with a focus on inviting men to step into their own preferred ethical selves that is taken up on behalf of the preferred effects that they want to have on their partners, children, and other relationships.

  • We believe that when men step into these preferred ethical positions, they experience increase capacity for love, joy, and intimacy in their lives.

  • We believe that men can not only handle but desire the challenge of difficult conversations related to their personal and relational lives.
